Postcards from Finns :)

This is an official card, handmade from a Finn that I seem to have a lot in common with, at least when it comes to things listed on our profiles.

This one is from the person who sent me the card from Albania. She's on holiday and went to Croatia next. I sent her an Oregon card, I think one of the Gorge, because that's my fave place in OR, and IMNSHO, one of the most beautiful. Posted by Picasa

Chocolate AND Postcards

So, I received two postcards yesterday and one today AND a chocolate bar from the chocolate round robin I'm participating in. This one is an official card from Finland, from a town just south of the Arctic Circle. Love the wolf :)

The roe deer are from Finland, the nature postcard round robin I am in.
And this one is of Normandy, France and is also an official card. The mail has had more than bills for me lately, YAY! Posted by Picasa and oh yeah, two chocolate bars (100g each) from Finland. The first one I sampled is chocolate with raspberry yogurt. I am LOVING it. The other is .... milk chocolate with Hazelnut filling. I guess the rest of the world really likes hazelnuts :)

This week's postcards

This week's received postcards.
This is a French lighthouse, again, I am too lazy to go get the card off my scanner and see where. I'll do it later. Enjoy the photos!
This is a swap from Saint-Petersburg, Russia, circa 1930-1940.
The third is a street scene from Lille, France.
This is from Finland. The user described the center one and I am too lazy to go get it off my printer and look at it. I guess I should do that, huh?

Italy and Albania

My latest postcards come from Italy and Albania, but sent by a Finn. (Well, the Italy one was sent by an Italian, the Albanian one sent by a Finn on holiday).

This one is of Crete senesi just south of Siena Italy.

I didn't know that Albania was so close to Italy. I used to love geography, postcrossing is a good way to regain that knowledge Happy With Glasses

Chocolate

I received my first chocolate yesterday from Germany! I find it slightly ironic that it has hazelnuts in it. I get chocolate from half-way around the world with hazelnuts in it, go figure. For those of you who don't know, hazelnuts are big here in Oregon, like one of the major exports.

Off to wrestle with Joy, take meds, and hate being a woman this week, or at least till the heat therapy kicks in.

Round Robins and such

Newest postcards being mailed to France, Netherlands, Finland, Hungary, and Germany. These are all swaps, tags, and round robin cards, so I expect one back from each person that I am sending to. This oughtta be cool :) And I have noticed from the postmarks that most cards take just about a week to get from Europe to America. However, cards from Canada to America and vice versa can take up to two weeks to arrive. What's up with that?? We're on the same continent for goodness sake!
